We offer a flexible curriculum and den routine to meet the needs of each child in our care.
During their time in our rainbow den, we aim to allow children to work on individual plans which focuses on their communication, wellbeing, independence and life skills to support them going forward. We enable children to use our enhanced resource room for extra guidance from staff and integrate into the main room which suits their abilities.
Since enhancing our rainbow den, we have seen a huge impact and progress on our little learners and their families have been so thankful for the support from our team.
Ellie our SENDCO oversees the den and supports staff and families to provide an inclusive and effective space.
What do our parents say?
"Thank you so much for all of your work on Rosie's EHCP. All you work and dedication on that has meant the Rosie will get the support she needs from day one when she moves onto primary school. It has relived a great amount of stress and worries from us as her parents! We can't thank you enough for caring and being the best at your job!" Becky & Sonny
"Alice couldn't love Little Explorers anymore if she tried and neither could us as her parents. The compassion, support and love shown to Alice throughout her little explorers adventure has been amazing! The den has been a HUGE help. She uses it often when she feels a little overwhelmed and there are resources that suit Alice's need that help engage her. The support from staff has been incredible and her development has grown from strength to strength. We are truly thankful for all of the help." Sian & Johnny
We have our very own resident artist called Steve who visits us once a week to teach us how to use art in a variety of ways.
Steve was awarded a degree of Master of fine art in June 2023 where he excelled at developing his love of art and design. In particular, his passion for sculptures.
We feel privileged to have such an esteemed artist working with us and our little learners. His sessions provide lots of opportunities for learning and the children look forward to his sessions where they can explore, experiment, and create their very own masterpieces.
We have our very own football coach come and see us once a week to teach us skills in the world of football.
Whether your child is a newbie to football or a child who is a beginners pro; there's a space for every child above the age of two to learn and perfect their skills. The sessions are fun and engaging and the children are always excited for their next session.
This is an optional session where parents can choose to enrol them. If you would like to enrol your child onto our Kixx Academy, please click here.
We are privileged to have our very own forest area at nursery. We provide forest sessions to all ages throughout the week.
These sessions offer opportunities that support play, exploration and risk taking in our woodland environment. The children love to explore their natural woodland area with their friends and discuss their findings.
Is your child currently at Jump Primary School or you're planning to send your child there? The fun doesn't stop here at Nursery.
We provide wrap around care within Jump Primary School to support parents by providing a fun and enabling environment for your children. Activities are around your children's interests and can include, crafts, science experiments, games and more!
COMING IN 2025 - School of Explorers at Tankersley St Peter's Primary School!
We look to inspire the next generation. We plan sessions at nursery or out in the community to support our little learners to get curious about the world around them and what they may like to be when they are older.
Previously we have had sessions with the local police, Alex the professional hockey player, community nursery nurse, local gardener and more. These sessions have filled our little learners with joy and curiosity and supported them to understand the world around them.
"I am always struck by how reflective you are as a team and how as a setting you have successfully embedded a reflective culture. This motivates and empowers all staff to continuously look for ways to improve the experience of the children"
